When booting up the computer and you encounter a hard drive error message in blue screen mode, fear not, there is still a chance for a hard drive recovery. This usually is just a software issue or a minor bad cluster problem and this could be remedied by using a third party diagnostic tool or the operating systems own disk repair utility such as checkdisk command. Running the recovery tools will check for errors on the hard drive and rectify the problem automatically and allows the computer to reboot and run normally again. If the problem persist, it is best to backup all important files in your computer and do a reformat and reinstallation of your operating system. This action usually solves the problem. But if you encounter a hard drive failure message immediately upon boot up and you could hear a cluttering noise from the inside of your computer, maybe it’s time for you to get a new hard drive.
